Energy Flows where Attention Goes...

While working on this design I found that I have started to implement the things I was thinking about even before I got to creating any kind of implementation plan. As soon as I clarified what I wanted to do & started to think about how It could be achieved I began prioritising those things in my time.

For example I have started collaborating with people around me such as my brother Toby & my partner Danny, I have began learning-by-doing; mapping the garden boundaries & contours & spring has hooked me into the design of my food garden, I've contacted people I know who are knowledgeable about the skills I want to learn, I've organised & hosted a small grafting workshop, I am reading more books about the subjects I want to discover more about & I'm getting more involved in the running of our local 'seed keep' instead of thinking I don't have time because I have to 'do my diploma'! All of these opportunities were already there, but it is only that I actually prioritise the opportunities.

A.L.P.

Action!

Some planning tools:

  • In this design I need to consider when things are going to happen, so I will consider 'placement' of elements around existing non-moveable elements such as events I have planned & other work commitments.

  • I will also design in space for as yet unplanned evenets -in other words 'things that come up!'

  • Relevant here is considering succession of the design: give value to things that get & keep the momentum going.

  • And arrange the elements in a way that facilitates spirals of abundance

  • "create a plan of action that is achievable, realistic, engaging, adaptable & eaasy to follow' -Looby

Next steps then are to:

Break down elements into tasks & small steps.

Use existing diary: multiple functions as a framework

Order elements in the design with succession in mind

Reconsider scatter pattern & how it works

Check in 6 months later.... Life got in the way! -Guess the design didn't account for all eventualities....

And I never created an action plan for this design,

Nonetheless I have been working haphazardly on the implementation, That's where the scatter pattern comes in!

So I've just done another tutorial with Chris & I have 3 designs to finish, 2 more to start & finish, & then I'm all ready to accredit.

So, An action plan....

Tasks & Steps

I'm creating a timeline for my action plan. This works in conjuncion with my diary which has some existing commitments in it.

So I need to consider:

What?

When?

Current Targets are:

Today! October 1st :-)

November 25th: Next tutorial, by then I'll have finished the three designs I'm currently working on

January 25th-ish: Portfolio Assessments: Ready to Accredit! by then I'll have done 2 more designs & prepared the other bits & pieces of my portfolio.

The Plan!

I have split the plan into two, the first half is quite detailed, it will bring me to the next tutorial, the second half is more vague, as my life situation is unpredictable at the minute so rather than spend time now planning, I have a general plan made which I will detail more when I get there & get a closer look! This allows for change where necessary,

In part one I have brokedn down the tasks into small achievabe steps. The dates are around existing commitments & also allowing days off & space for other things to happen. The detail in the plan allows it to be flexible, as in I can stock up or catch up with little time slots if necessary.
